Songwriting is a wonderful hobby and some people are even fortunate enough to take it to a professional level. For many people songwriting comes naturally and there are a lot of different reasons for why people enjoy doing it. For some it helps them to heal wounds and for others it is just a lot of fun. To get a copyright for a song it only takes a matter of minutes. This would be a worst case scenario but it still happens all the time. If you want to be a professional songwriter this is a process you need to be able to follow. Otherwise you could spend all your time coming up with great songs but then have other people taking credit for it.
